I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what is actually involved in installing a Sky multiroom, we currently have Sky in the living room (downstairs) and are getting the multiroom in a room upstairs. I tried to ring Sky to ask but they have a high volume of calls and cant be bothered sat on hold! There's also some info on their website but it doesn't explain if it needs to be linked up to the satellite dish etc.

So if anybody could help so I know what to expect when they come!

Many thanks :)

The multiroom digibox must be connected by a cable to the dish and to a telephone line.

how do they connect it to the sky dish?

They basically run cables from the Sky dish to the place where the new Sky box is going.

If you have a basic Sky box they run one cable, if you are having Sky+ or Sky+HD then they run run two cables (or maybe two cables "joined" together).

They will also run a cable from the new Sky box to the nearest telephone socket.

So you will finish up with two sets of cables coming from the Sky dish, one set going to your old Sky box, one set going to your new Sky box.

And a new cable from the Sky box to the telephone socket.
