Hello ABers, has anyone ever read any of Agatha Raisins books? I have just come across them on a website and they sound quite amusing and easy to read. Am seriously considering ordering them. Any one got any comments?

They are gently amusing, short and easy to read...........I've only read one, so far, but would be happy getting the others.
I've read the whole series so far .Light reading .Dead bodies abound but not gruesome ..Cozy mystery genre . Think Midsomer with Miss Marple thrown in ..

Thanks for your replies. Think I will definitely give them a go. There seem to be quite a lot of titles to get through, will order them from Amazon.
Various stories are now being broadcast on Radio 4 Extra. Penelope Keith in lead role.

By the same author the Hamish Macbeth series "Death of a ......" are also easy to read, amusing and again not gruesome but plenty of puzzles and interesting characters. A great read if you are feeling in need of comfort reading!
Who also writes as Marion Chesney

There are quite a few available at 3 for £5 in "The Works" if you have one near you. They are also appearing in charity shops now.
Question Author
Thanks Joto, yes there is a 'The Works' in my town, and 3 for £5 is good. But I have just ordered them from 'The Book People' and they were 10 for £9,99. A very good price I think !!
each book has a different story but its best if they are read in order because of the underlying story of agathas private life. they are all brilliant though perfect for taking on holidays
I read a few of them but then got a bit bored. They all seemed to merge into one. Personally I like 'heavier' crime fiction.

The ten I have ordered are all in order from 1-10. I do like something easy to read and not hard going, so hopefully these books will suit me fine:-)
I've only come across the afore-mentioned radio series with Penelope Keith but have enjoyed them and am likely to snap up any copies of the books I find. By the way, can anybody tell me the name of the morris dance which is used as the theme tune? Thanks.
