Hi guys.

I was assaulted in October by another woman, which left me with a black eye, hair falling out in clumps and a broken finger. I did not retaliate. I reported it to the police and the CPS is taking the case to court. The woman has pleaded not guilty to Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. The case was due in court next week, but I've had a phone call today from Witness Service informing me that the defence has asked for an adjournment and it has been granted. For what reasons would an adjournement be required? I've never been involved with anything like this in my life and I'm working myself up badly. Can anyone help please.

Change of plea? New evidence? Could be several things
Normally it is something like a death in the family of someone involved and funeral next week or last minute unexpected availability of a witness.

Thanks for the quick response guys. There are no other witnesses apart from my young children and I have refused to let them give evidence as I don't want them to go through all the heartache again, they were traumatised when it happened to me.
