I know you may be looking for something a bit more upmarket but you should consider Argos. They have really good quality sofas for really cheap prices because they buy in bulk in advance (not made to order) and so delivery time is very short. The only downside is they have less variety of colours etc due to the bulk preordering, but you should definietly take a look!

thanks cassimer and I hope it didn't appear I wanted something more upmarket - perish the thought; I am a bargain queen.  Thanks for the advice, I'll have a go but I think I will come across the same prob of a 1-2 month wait.  I'll go off the idea if I have to wait ages!
