I'm currently three months behind on my car payments, I have paid more than two thirds of the price. I can now pay the monthly payments again and a little bit more to pay off the arrears. But the car company wants more than what I've offered. I pay 115 per month and I've offered 130. But they want 200 and I simply can't afford this.

Just keep paying what you can afford and when 'push comes to shove' like a Court case you will be in a stronger position.

They can't take the vehicle if you are paying as that would be theft.
As above, take no notice and pay what you can, they'll stamp their feet but in reality you are making an effort so there's very little they can do.
In addition to the two above, keep a record of what you offered i.e. copy of a letter written to them, time and date and name of person that you spoke to etc
