I've met my partner is South Africa and we've now moved the UK. She's been through a relationship wherein she and her husband had equal responsibility for their debt., which they cannot pay. Almost all our belongings at this point either belongs to our landlord, my mum-in-law-to-be and myself. I understand that the 'sherrif' can attach anything of value and the onus is on me to proove its mine? Who knows more on how can we protect what is mine, my landlord's and mum-in-law's?
