We erected a fence in the autumn on our land as the neighbour didnt want us to build up the wall that is already there. Since this she has been drilling into it and hanging things off it which is damaging it. We have asked her to remove screw etc and after some time we leant over and removed them- not causing any damage or by goin on to her property. I have just noticed she has attached 4 window boxes to our fence with at least 6 screws in each screwed inot our fence am really fed up as this is just one of many things she does where do we stand legally can i remove them from my property? what happens if they fall onto the floor?

How far onto your property does she have to lean to get to the fence?

1. Is the boundry wall hers or yours?
2. Why do you object to her putting things on the fence?

But if you can't stop her I would be tempted to put that black anti climb/grafiti paint on it.
lol cassa- did you read the question at all?

The poster has already said why they object to things been put on the fence- they're damaging it.

The neighbour doesn't lean onto his property- he does to remove the things she's screwed onto it.

How would painting the fence stop them attaching windowboxes on it?

jenbeagle- have you tried having a civil conversation with your neighbour? Explaning that she's (probably unitentionally) ruining your fence? If at all possible I'd be tempted to keep relations with your neghbour on friendly terms- nothing worse than having to live next door to folk who suddenly become your enemy.

we have tried she's a bit nutty lol sprays us with water when we walk past plays load music if she hears us at all, and cuts our trees and posts rubbish back over - i know she can do this but most people would ask!we offered to have wall built but as party wall - bout 4 ft she could refuse. i object to her screwing things into our fence which is on our land and that she hasnt just asked . do u know where i stand legally ? is this criminal damage?
weve just had similar problem with our fence, our neighbours placed actonr of wood on so we couldnt fix our gate. we phoned the police for advice and they said anything attached to our property can be removed, they told us it would be classed as legally ours Also it is classed as criminal damage, you should contact the police and ask their advice. Maybe they could in sound and have a word with your neighbour. Good luck
sorry should have said batons of wood not actonr bloody predictive text
But Boo the neighbour must lean onto the land at some point to attach things to the fence? this could be trespass?? (not sure though).

The anti slip paint would just be a pain for her to have to touch as she tried to hang things from it and it doesn't look very nice :)

Also (and I may be wrong ((again))) even though she is entitled to cut bushes etc that overhang her garden she cannot go further than her boundry and she should ask you if you want the clippings back. If you say no then she has to dispose of them.
