does anyone know what will happen to my son for a non producer to the police, he already has 3 points and has not passed his test for more than 2 years. this was a genuine mistake as on the night he was given the producer he was involved in a car accident, and cannot even remember being given the producer, the car was a write off and we now think the producer actually went with the car on the back of tow truck. at the time of incident, he had mot, insurance and tax and was all fully legal.

Most police forces will send a reminder when you fail to prduce - you take this reminder letter with documents to station. Technically, producing outside the 7 days in an offence BUT if the docs are correct very few officers would prosecute.
When was he issued with the producer? If has heard nothing, he should go to the local police station as soon as possible and produce them, even if it later than the 7 days.

He will have an opportunity to make a written statement re the delay.

He could be summonsed and receive3 points on his licence.
Did he have a Fully Licenced Pasenger with him at the time of the accedent?????

As in sitting next to him .

If not ..The Insurance is not likely to pay out.
He could be summoned for failing to produce if he takes his documents to the court they most probably will send him to the police station who will then agree they are in order then back to the Magistrates who will formally withdraw the case aginst him
