Salary slips query

I work for a charity and am one of only 2 paid employees. The Treasurer is one of the volunteers and she has always dealt with our salary slips. For the first few years, all they would give us was a handwritten slip of paper with the amount being paid into the bank. I continually asked for a proper slip and eventually, they have started to produce them via the computer. However, they are never correct. Some months they dont tally with what is paid into the bank. Sometimes the amount of tax showing in the "year to date" column is just the monthly amount etc etc. I don't want to have a row with anyone as it's such a small organisation but does anyone know where I stand legally before I throw my rattle out of the pram?

i think you would just have to have a moan about the constant mistakes on the payskips and just tell them that this is not good practice and they must get their facts correct so thatt heir employees know where they are and also before someone unscrupulous takes advantage of the mistakes.

Thanks Emlett, I've tried that but in six years, it hasn't worked! I guess I should have got stroppy before this but it's getting beyond a joke now and I would like to be able to quote the legal requirements to them this time.
I assume it is a Registered Charity? If so, check the charities commision website, especially this section...

I'm not sure if this will help, but scroll down to the section on wages & salaries, at very least they are guilty of bad practice - how can they reconcile their accounts if the figures printed on the payslips don't match the amounts paid?

Perhaps the CC could offer some advice?

Thanks Xanderma - that was useful. Have copied some of the phrases and will be speaking to the Trustees of the Charity.

Thanks for the help
