if my mum goes into care will the house be taken to pay for the care even though it has been signed over to her son for the past 2 years thanks

Not sure about the procedure in Ireland but in England ( so whether it covers the whole of the UK) the property can be taken into consideration towards the costs of any care if the transfer did not happen eight years previously. However, if her son is and was (when she went into care) also resident in the house it cannot be taken into consideration at all as he would lose his home.
