help please with agreement

hi please could some one help me to help my daughter her brother inlaw wants her to sign an agreement that he is going to write on a piece of paper, i wont go into details as to what it is but its about her not causing trouble between him and his brother. He wants to have put in the agreement that if she breaks it and causes trouble then she is to pay him �500 could he take her to court over this if she broke the agreement and she didnt give him the �500 would it be a legal.

It all sounds highly odd to me. I would have nothing to do with it.
For it to be legal it would have to be very very clear.

It would have to specify one thing that she must do or must not do for a specified period.

And even if they had a legal agreement and it went to court, there is no guarantee that the monies would be recovered.

It is not the way to go.
Your daughter should visit a solicitor & discuss the matter.

Only general advice around legal matters & contracts can be given if you can't disclose the full circumstances, the contents of this contract/agreement may not even be legal.
