A friend from Spain was staying with me for a couple of weeks, borrowed my car with my permission and has been caught speeding (flashed camera evidence). I have his Spanish address but how do the Police react when you state that it was someone who lives overseas? Do they believe you or think you are trying to pull a fast one??!!

You are required to reveal who was the driver at the time of the offence.

So pass on his details and the dates he was in the UK and leave it to the police to sort out.

If they have a photograph of the driver however they may visit to see if the driver was you !!!
They will probably ask for proof that it was him - eg plane tickets etc.
