I was recently assaulted, the guy who did it was arrested and charged and I have to go to court about it in a couple of months. How does it all work in Scotland? Will I meet with a representative from the Procurator Fiscals office to go over everything before the court date or do I just turn up and give my evidence on the day?

Not well versed in Scottish law bu I imagine the rules of evidence are similar to south of the border.

If so, the prosecutor is not permitted to discuss your evidence with you. You can receive guidance about the court process (in England the Witness Service will do that when you attend court). You may meet the prosecutor beforehand as a courtesy, but you will provide your evidence without any discussion beforehand.
