I got £150 taken off the calculation for my council tax in the calculation for the years 2022 to 2023.

That's interesting. Maybe it's being done differently in Scotland. Here, it's a cash payment.

People who pay by Direct Debit are first in the queue. From what I read yesterday councils have until the end of September to arrange payment to everybody else eligible.

I think mine was deducted from my CT bill. It was mentioned at the bottom of my CT statement but nothing was said about how we would get it so assumed it was incorporated into the bill.

From the government site Tiggs...

"6. Should I have received the rebate as a discount on my council tax bill?

The rebate will be provided as a separate payment, rather than as part of your council tax bill.

This allows the support to be provided to households more quickly, rather than the benefit being spread as a discount across the usual 10 or 12 council tax bill instalments during 2022-23. It also means that households that do not pay council tax - for example, if they are exempt or have nil liability - are not disadvantaged.

Where a household is eligible for the rebate and their local council does not already hold payment details as a result of a direct debit instruction, they may offer the option to receive the payment as a council tax account credit."

Local council are going to pay those who pay by direct debit straight into their bank accounts at some date yet to be announced.

i think id rather have it in a lump, then i can pay it straight to my energy company. If it was taken off the bill, i doubt i'd pay the energy co an extra 15 quid per month
