He came round a week or so ago and my husband was talking to him, he’s been quoted £700 to have them cut back, am I right in thinking this is not the time of year for him to do that, are birds nesting in there?
Report them.
Question Author
Definitely would never do that Gulliver
There are laws about Leylandii. Check them out and then speak very kindly to your neigbours initially. If they get stroppy, then point out the laws. As for the pigeons, Im afraid I can only offer psycotherapy for you to conquer your fears ;o) !
Question Author
And besides who to? It’s private property and I’d hate to start a confrontation with a neighbour, not my style
psychotherapy !
Question Author
Apc I’ll happily take the psychotherapy when you’ve got time :0/
It’s something I’ve had like ...forever :0(
13.06. No No, of course not, you wouldn't know how would you.
I don't mean psychotherapy from me. That would be a disaster!!
Question Author
Gulliver I’m your perfect neighbour I’ll have you know dear :0)
Question Author
Haha, I thought I was getting it on the cheap or for nowt Apc( sighhhh)
I assume the missing characters in the OP are aggin, but for my gripe they would be ittin - they perch on the edge of my bird bath facing outwards while perusing my garden, and inevitably defecate while doing so, straight into the bird bath. I clean it every day of course but it's unpleasant - why can't they do it elsewhere - not in your adjacent Leylandii of course ;-)
Question Author
Canary they were going at it hammer and tong, wings flapping wildly ( shudder)
Pigeons amuse me. They are so clumsy and the young ones often fall of the trees. They, like pheasants, are not the most intelligent of birds, but look how they helped in the war!!!
Question Author
Well they must be having a wee nap as they’ve been quiet allowing us to decorate the garden with solar lights :0)
Good luck with keeping the solar panels clear of their crap ;-)
Question Author
Oohhh, never thought of that Canary :0(
If they are nesting (pigeons nest all year round but tend to up it a bit this time of year) they can't be disturbed.

They're a bloody nuisance but nothing you can do really.
