Nope, not from Northumberland.
Snitter
A sound made when amused, but not greatly so. A cross between a snigger and a titter.
He gave a little snitter at her weak joke.
All the girls were snittering at his dress sense.
Ah.

fgs - if the subject doesnt interest you then ignore the thread & keep ur snideness to yourself.

A powerful comment from a potential medic jurer is "if you cant breathe you cant speak"!
will he get a fair trial, after all most seem to know what happened,
its been all over the media for an age.
AB seems to be full of judges, jurors and executioners.
no we neednt ! comment is allowed in american cases on the first amendment ( free speech)

let me clarify - the juries are now being selected for a trial to begin on 29 th innit. Very slow - and not seen here - so it has fewer lessons for us. All we get is - "punters stand up if you know the defendant!" whereas the americans go thro all sorts of lah-dee-dah

the idea of "shush shush let justice take its course" is rolling back here. The GMC tried to have the Beeb committed for contempt for comments on its case. The nub being that the GMC is a court

and ( AG ref no 2 R v BBC ex p GMC) surprisingly the high court said: not a court of record and no jury - so people can blaaart!
surprise everywhere

A lot more comment over PC Wayne Couzens than I am used to seeing. Times Change ...... it was the best of times and the worst of times ....

I note this is law so I can comment slightly more technically than on the chatterbank threads
// will he get a fair trial, after all most seem to know what happened,//

you mean you only get a fair trial if we DON'T know what happened?
oh god it must be AB in full swing !
er OK it is not the Law thread

$27million compo to GFloyd's family - crime does pay!

jurers in MPDept Chauvin trial are resigning in disgust.
I am not sure if they can
what does the judge say?

and yet once AGAIN - civil and criminal proceedings are not joined in the common law system ( but can be under Napoleonic law [parti civil])
Question Author
Judge says compo is a separate case.
