The Covid Superspreaders were out in force today then. Carrying it from Coventry to Norfolk, from Liverpool to Yorkshire, from Reading to Luton, from Wales to Nottingham, from London to Derbyshire, from the Midlands to Lancashire, from Sheffield to Bristol, and so on (#4).

Who are they ? Why they’re the highly-paid players of the F A top football teams. Many of these teams have players who've tested positive for the plague, but they just self-isolate so that's all right then!.

And this goes ahead while 2 plebs taking a 4-mile drive to exercise are penalised(#3). You couldn’t make it up.

There are some in Top Football who don't agree with it (e.g. Steve Bruce #1) but others who plead for the pampered pansies (David Moyes #2).

Big money talks OK. The over 80,000 dead (#5) have no say in it of course.

Jesus! Not another Jeremiah/Cassandra!
I doubt they go shopping and infect others. They are tested twice a week. Fair enough if goverment decides to stop them playing and leave us with even less to enjoy at home, so long as there consistent and stop Dancing on Ice, etc
You do realised that they are tested twice weekly to ensure that they are not infected, or does that not fit with your rhetoric? Any positive tests are forced into isolation, just like all "elite sports".
Incidentally, were those two ladies really deserving as being described as "plebs"? Especially by one who specialises in plebeian posts?
aren't they playing in empty stadia?
They were called worse yesterday Mozz - sad innit?
yes woof no crowds, and players and staff usually travel together by coach, stay together, only mix with other team on the pitch then are transported back. Sometimes they stay overnight though and some picked corona up at a hotel maybe from staff so there is some risk
After the Greta thread I'm not getting involved anymore Mamya. I'm sure a few will be pleased to learn that I intend my use of AB to be dropping substantially over the coming weeks.
Maybe canarys main concern with footballers is that there so well paid.
You aren't alone in that Mozz.
There certainly seems to be an ulterior motive behind this thread Bob. Football is hardly alone in still being active. Rugby is in full flow too, and there's a hell of a lot more player contact there.
doesnt pleb mean ordinary person (as opposed to footballers in this case)
That comes as no surprise Mamya.
Not only do I not care about football, I actively dislike it; but I still will espouse truth and commonsense!
Originally Bedknobs, that what Plebeian meant, but it's been used for many years now as a word for someone inferior to the user, someone in a lower social class.
Another ridiculous post.
We are stuck with such for the foreseeable future.
And it’s better than being ill I suppose
What angers me most about the footballers is they are allowed to hug each other when they score, and yet the only grandchild I can hug is the one in my bubble. Some of these footballers have been abroad on holiday, and I daresay they sit next to each other on the coaches and in the hotel bar. Is it really detrimental to our health if the games didn't go ahead?

barsel allegedly televised football is very good for the mental health of many people. It wouldn't be good for mine!
If they weren't allowed to hug....if football was banned altogether it wouldn't change anything for you....sorry but that's the case.
I really enjoyed Strictly and Bake Off where similar limits and controls were placed on the participants and other TV programs are doing similar things in order to give us entertainment.
