If a child is sent home from school to isolate, are the rest of the family meant to be carrying on as normal?

Just a thought as a visiting nurse tells me 2 of her children are in isolation!

Yes
Our son has been off school for a fortnight just before the period reduces to 10 days!
If the children live with her then she too should be isolating.
not true vagus, unless the isolatee gets symptoms
Indeed.
Not true as stated previously.

Ok, thanks, you live and learn.
My symptomless granddaughter was sent home. She bounced around the walls for 2 weeks whilst my daughter had to stay home from her work as a maths teacher (with all those ramifications). Her brother, in a different school, continued as per usual. Now everyone is fine and back at work/school. All seems a bit pointless, really.

Thanks for replies. I guess as a district nurse the lady is a key worker..
Such a lot of disruption..wish I could see an end to it..
If the nurse were meant to isolate, anyone who had been in contact with her would also have to isolate and so on in an ever increasing chain.
