Someone I know is due to appear in Croydon Court next week to answer a drink driving charge. Does anyone know if this court is open? If it is, what will happen to the case? Thanks in advance.

If you have a case scheduled at this site, please attend unless you are showing symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) and are self-isolating at home, or are self-isolating as you live or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms of coronavirus. See the NHS advice on Self-isolation if you or someone you live with has symptoms."
you need to with the court as some are open and others are not.
oh ! yes sorry they are !
beaks complaining that people are turning up with corona
and demanding to be heard
which if they are running the hearing is their right
Yes, Croydon Court is open. Your friend will find that only two magistrates will be sitting instead of the usual three (unless the court is presided over by a District Judge sitting alone). This is to allow them the space to observe the "two metre" separation guidelines.
