When a failed asylum seeker appeals against the decision, who pays his/her legal fees ?

Legal aid is available for asylum applications and appeals.

Due to the limited means of most asylum seekers that means that most such applications and appeals are funded from the public purse but, for example, a Russian oligarch seeking political asylum in the UK would have to fund his own legal expenses.

I.m amazed you had to ask! Prisoners seem to have a never ending access to free legal services,thinking back to the Hindley case etc..

I asked because I didn't know, but I believe legal aid is difficult to come by.
