Not me! But its been driving me crazy, if a person is wrongly imprisoned for, let's say 20 years, because of a false rape charge; and it's finally revealed that it was a lie or someone else actually did it, how or who would make it up to the wrongfully imprisoned person!? Or would they just say "you're free to go."

They would be financially compensated and after 20 years that would be a lot.
Simply getting a conviction overturned isn't, in itself, adequate grounds for compensation. Many people have been released from prison, when their convictions have been overturned, without receiving a penny in compensation. However things have been a bit easier since 2011, when the Supreme Court made it a little easier for wrongly convicted people to get compensation:

However Sam Hallam, who had his murder conviction overturned in 2012 (and who was then released from prison after serving 24 years), was still fighting for compensation in May of this year

but he lost his case

and therefore didn't get a single penny of what he was seeking.
That is just brutal. 20 years are a long time to get punished for no reason. They should punish the law makers who were involved making such decision so that they will inquire properly before sending someone away in prison.

yup 'fraid so

they look at all the facts of the particular case including whether you co operated or just coyly smiled and said 'Prove it - I aint dun narfin'
and of course someone can be paid to plead - o we really think he did it he just got off
( as happens now even with the Birmingham bombers who WERE compensated and stuffed it up their noses )
and of course there is the issue of charging for board and lodging!
false rape claims are very, very rare. But if that was the case.. Financial supplement and emotional / mental therapy along with the accuser getting the same amount of time?
