Yes....child-sex case....grim.
Yes.
No, hope I never do. What is the age cut off limit ?

Certainly have, it was interesting.
I have been called up, just once, but I didn't actually form part of the jury. The jury was, first of all, assembled, and there were some people left over, in case a defendant objected to a juror. I was in the 'left overs', but we were allowed to sit in the court room and watch the proceedings.
My wife was called up, and she did, actually, get to sit on a jury.
I'm still waiting - only 6 years before it's too late. (75)
I think there's now no upper age limit in Scotland.
yes, dog trainer slugged a client. She got ten years in Leavenworth or eleven years in Twelveworth, I forget which.

I got called up a couple of years ago but my doctor issued me with a letter saying that my health problems made me unsuitable for jury duty.

Nope! I guess it is too late for me. My colleague once had a gory, gruesome case, a well known one and she had to take a week of work to get over the horrors. And because jury tampering was involved they were chaperoned.
yup ..a gruesome murder in Glasgow ..3 lads kept victim prisoner..tortured him..tied to a chair..used all manner of implements...then wrapped him in a rug and transported him to a river bank in a wheely bin where they set him on fire...they re-wallpapered room..painted..new carpets etc..but forensics got them..3 life sentences...
Yes, I have done jury service twice. The first time was at The Old Baily, armed bank robbery.
Yes. It was grim.
Yes, it was fascinating. A case of money going into the wrong account. Up in one of the main courts in central London. Obviously I would hate to have to be involved in a sex case, especially with children, but would definitely recommend you doing it if you get the chance and not ‘pleaing’ off.
Nope, though I had an offer from the Chinese judiciary to have someone executed for making illegal lubricant using my company's brand.... the victim to go on to his knees, back of the neck with the pistol and pull the trigger, the family pays for the bullet.....

Now which way did I go for?
Yes but I was heavily pregnant and they didn't seem to want to provide hot water and clean towels so they excused me.
yes twice but got a letter from doctor saying I couldn't do it because I was deaf. Yeeha.
Yes, rape case, verdict of "not proven" the result.
Scotland, eh Jim? Jury duty is 50% more difficult there with three possible verdicts.
Perhaps, although it's also nice to have a "Not guilty but don't do it again" verdict handy if and when you need it :P
