Yes.
"When all UK Wills are signed, there must be two witnesses present who must be over 18 years old. For the Will to be valid, these two witnesses must not be potential beneficiaries of the Will, spouses of beneficiaries, or members of your own family."

Yes but the beneficiary forfeits their claim

..,"A beneficiary should not witness the will since a witness cannot benefit from a will he has witnessed. Note that if a beneficiary witnesses the will or is married to a witness, the gift to him is void. The will is still valid but the witnessing beneficiary does not receive his gift.

Its the simple and sensible solution if you think about it...The will remains valid, thus not disadvantaging the other beneficiaries and any potential jiggery pokery is prevented.
