I think power of attorney ceases on death, so NO.
BHG is correct. Purpose of Power of Attorney is to be able to look after the finances (and/or medical decisions) for someone who is no longer mentally capable to make the decisions themselves. It is arranged when the person is still capable as they agree to the particular person/s taking on this role. e.g. it was suggested to me arrange this when my husband had to attend the memory clinic.
