hi there on behalf of a friend...
basically my friend stupidly put a racist comment about the receptionist in her childs school on facebook and it has got back to the school.
The receptionist took this quite badly its said divvy ***.
anyway she was called in by the head who had informed the police as apparently they have too.
my friend apologized to the receptionist and explained although it doesnt justified her actions why she wrote it and that was it.
what will the outcome be from the police does anyone no? she has never been racist it was just an angry comment
thanks

wont let me put the word in lol short for pakistani if that helps!
i was just asking if anyone knew what sort of thing the police will do?
The 'P' word is classed as racist so she can hardly say ''she has never been racist'' If that was so she would have known better than to use the word.
Question Author
that wasnt my question, she regrets what she put it was a heat of the moment thing and deeply apologised to the receptionist
i`ve never understood the problem with the P word its just an abbreviation of where they come from.
If you call us Brits are we offended - no.
What prompted her to put any comment on the Facebook - and probably more important who did she expect was going to read it?
Question Author
to be honest i agree but she took it to heart and apparently the school have to report it to the police. the girl is very rude as it is and receives alot of verbal abuse from other parents as she clearly doesnt do her job properly but there u go
Question Author
davemano....someone had put a status up about the school being useless and she was having issues with obviously the receptionist and answered with what i have said.....she didnt think about who saw it but then again you cant trust anyone
The word is NOT just an abbreviation as you well know. It is established as a racist word. Dates from the 1970s when skinheads would go out P****i Bashing. I have worked abroad and we were always called 'Brits' there is no racist context to 'Brits'. It is like Yanks or Ozzie's a friendly term
Question Author
i didnt ask for anyone to give there opinion on the word just what the police would do?!
A caution is my guess.
I would think so too, if your friend is clean of other accusations.....
Question Author
what do u mean clean of other accusations?
If she has no previous record with the police, she is likely to be given a caution. Or she might not hear anything at all.

But do again or anything similar and she will pay for both offences, harshly.
Question Author
she has a caution for a domestic with her ex partner will this go against her she is scared now :(
hard to say, that one......it depends on the gravity of the caution and who initiated it, I would postulate.
hi lsharp

this is the nearest I can find to your friend

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.360407-UK-Student-loses-appeal-over-prison-sentence-for-racist-tweets

the difference is that the guy in the article didnt retract or apologise

your friend has done the right thing -apologise and also say she didnt intend racialist intent

and now she waits and sees

for one offence linked with an immediate apology
they may well take no action

anyway I think the answer is wait and see

Question Author
thank you, she has never been racially abusive towards anyone before and like i said yes she said it and it was wrong but she apologised straight away to the woman, shes worried now that because she slapped her ex partner because he was in her face(yes she got a caution for common assault) it will badly go against her :(
Is the receptionist actually a Pakistani? If so, she (your pal) may have the slightest chance of getting away with it.
