Poppy obviously knows why she has been suspended so could easily have got advice from the union. Has your suspension anything to do with your complaint or have they 'found' something else to try to discredit you and your complaint?

I dont see any reason why it would need to be done face to face, if they thought they needed your fob they would have asked for it.
They will have to put into writing the reasons for suspension and an explanation of any investigation discipline procedure etc in order for you to attend a discipline interview with representation etc..

i work with children and its a security fob surely that would of been a priority for them
not if your disciplinary has nothing to do with putting the children at risk or theft.
Also it is possible that they can disable your security fob without having it back off you, they could certainly do this at the last place I worked.
what difference will it practically make if you were told over the phone, or if you were told face to face?
you may find that it has already been blocked on their computer so would not work that is what they use to do where i worked if you lost it
If they have a disciplinary policy they have to follow it - and to make it available to you
but they dont have to have one- in which case they have to follow basic rules of natural justice.

I can see why you ask - it is so easy for them to say ooh we didnt tell anyone to do that ..... but it seems OK

you need to join a union or see your CAb about what to do next

thanks for advice folks have been in touch with my union and have a very strong case and they are handling it many thanks
a strong case for what? Nothing has happened yet, apart from suspension which is usual whether they find in your favour or not
You're suspended while they investigate - what do you have a strong case for?

I thought perhaps you'd made an earlier post which would have explained to us about the circumstances leading to your grievance - but you haven't.
cassa, they may not have needed to "find" something, we are only getting a part of the story here.
Poppy altho people are saying 'we dont know it all...'
we know that you have to put down a short story and not perhaps the whole story of your life... and so if there is anything else we can help with, re-post.

I for example have no prob getting my head around someone who whistle blew getting screwed over something " completely different ".

my grievance was about the senior managment bulling harassing and victimising me and treating me differently to other staff,on the night of my greivance meeting i had a phone call saying i was suspended due to investigations of gross misconduct i am alleged to have to some aa batteries in her cup bearing in mind i do not make the drinks and room always occupied with senior management and secretary and when not occupied door always locked due to the policies so no way could i have done it secondly i am accused of inapropriate lanauge out side the building but still on the premises again i didnt do and they have no witnesses and i have 2 that was there and didnt here anything inapropriate but i have not heard anything from my employers since the 19th at 5-55pm. if these was so serious as which they sound why havnt the police been in formed and me questioned about the event and why did these allegations only come to light after they started looking into my complaint
i think your employer are doing exactly the right thing while they investigate - suspending you on full pay
