I was very drunk the other night on saturday and my card got swallowed by a cash point so i hit it afew times of what i can remember and maybe just gave it a silly kick on the bottom frame out of frustration. i used nothing but bear hands and i had no cuts or bruises next day so surely i couldnt hit it that hard. i went back next day and there was no damage to the screen or anything and it still worked all fine the only thing i noticed is the frame where the keypad is wasnt there like it had been taken off and i dont know if it was cos i might of damaged it but im 99 per cent i would not of caused that much damage with how i hit it bear hand surely cant do that to a cash point. and like i said it still worked fine people were using it with some wires near kepad showing. i have no convictions at all and i work full time and am so scared and upset with what i done will i go to prison for this being my first offence
You won't go to prison so stop worrying. Let's be honest it isn't exactly a big issue is it. At THE MOST you will probably get a caution. The bank isn't going to bother with something so trivial. Ignore it
cyprus2012: The worse case; you get done for criminal damage. It isn't something that the bank will even chase up. The amount of times someone smashes up a machine is unbelievable. A complete waste of police time.
No they havent contacted me and im sooo scared i was frustrated and scared it could be a scam and i know i shouldnt of acted like i did but drink can make u do silly things i never ever done anything like this before
I cant stand yobs and drunken idiots i didnt do it for the fun of it i done it cos i lost my card in it and got annoyed with machine that was all so if i did get arrested i would say thats what happend i have bank statement to prove it and like i said the machine is still working fine just with no frame where keypad is
The chances are the machine ate your card because you were so blindo you punched (litrally) the wrong pin number in. Ignore it. Strole into the bank and ask for a replacement card telling them yours was eaten by the machine. They will apologise for that happening and you can be on your merry way. You haven't done that damage to the machine with your fists. They are very very well built and take alot of fist action - trust me.
Don't want to worry you but some of them must have cameras in them - I say this because my card got stopped after my husband used it in a cash machine. They knew a man had used it instead of a female so I presume some have cameras.
sherrardk: either way if it went as far as the police getting involved they would only give a caution.
It is pointless worrying this guy becaus even in the worse case scenario it would be classed as criminal damage. The CPS aren't interested in dealing with someone who's had too much ale and got annoyed with a cash point. This won't get to court or even the police for that matter.
cyprus: just ignore it and if the police get in touch just tell them what happened and offer to pay for the cost to repair it. Bloody police don't have time to waste on stuff like that.
