Hi

If charged with Drink driving and 2 Police Assaults what kind of sentence/fine/community service etc is likely to be handed out by the Court?
the person already has previous driving convictions including driving whilst disqualified, was 1 and 1/2 times over the limit but no previous violence record. ( live in Scotland so dont know if the law will be significantly different !! )
had so many conflicting views so far... :-(

thanks

I was a serial offender on D/D joeluke I used to drink and drive all the time and am not proud of it. I have been caught 3 times now and I must admit on the 3rd time I really, really thought I was going inside but I did not.

Now I have turned my life around and would never ever even think about having even one drink before I drive and have had a totally clean licence for...

Forty years at least and a prisoner exchange to Libya,
How many previous driving convictions?

My mate was sent to prison on his 3rd conviction.
For 7 weeks.
According to this:

"Assault of a police officer is punishable by up to 6 months imprisonment,"

at least one previous ban - for drink driving and then a further ban for driving while disqualified and no insurance... I expect thatll be a 5 year ban this time but not sure about the police assaults !! and one of the assaults was on a female :(

Because it was judgemental and unhelpful.

No more than six months, Eddie (four if early guilty pleas are entered). Assault PC and Excess alcohol are both (summary) offences (at least in England and Wales they are. I believe this is true also in Scotland). As such they can only attract a maximum of six months concurrently.
