My wife has just received a Jury Summons to appear on the Jury in November, but will be unable to do so as she has to be at home with me at all times due to my medical needs. do you think she can be excused service under these terms?

didn't spot that bednobs- thanks for pointing it out.
I am sure that the information contained rsvp's answer is largel;y correct but the advice in his link is from the New Zealand Law Service. I am sure there is a similar site for potential English jurors.

My thanks.
you don't need a site, it'll be on the letter inviting her to do it
As a total last resort, when it comes to the pre-Jury particulars say that you will definitely will find him guilty if he's a black man. They won't be able to get rid of you fast enough!( I stress this is semi-jocular and only a last, desperate resort!)
I was called for jury service some years ago but I am sole carer for my husband. I just wrote asking to be excused, explaining the situation and was excused.
