My sister in law lives in Merseyside. She is in dispute with a Merseyside company. They have appointed a Merseyside debt collection company who want to take her to court apparently in Northampton. At least, that is where she has to return the court papers.
Can she get the case heard locally? Travel to Northampton is not an option.

If she wants to defend the claim she can ask for the case to be transferred to her local Court. She should ring the Northampton Court to find out how to do this.
It could be that the debt is with a company whose head office is based in Northampton and that they have jurisdiction.
Yes of course. If she is defending it and fills in the Allocation Questionnaire which she will be sent to her if she denies the charge/claim, she can request that it is heard in her local court.
