Intermittent Bad Starter

Ford Orion 1600i EFI  - CVH  engine 1991(No cat) true 80.000 mile's fitted new plugs air filter, oil and oil filter cambelt's ok.  I can hear the fuel pump prime in the tank for a second or two when l turn the ignition on, battery is ok cause it will turn the engine for severel good 30 sec cranks, just as the battery starts to fail a quick sniff of Easy start and its away. this problem is intermittent some times first thing in the morning it starts first time in the garage drive it out side turn it off,  go back 10 mins later and it wont start. Some times its the other way round (it wont start first time in the garage) ...I took the car to two garages' but they dont know what is up with it. Help please  !!    Bill  in   Lancashire
