Another dubious 'show of strength' from the law.
I wonder what this country is coming to when it's deemed necessary to send in un-announced non ID showing legalised thugs plus a massive battery of police officers, equipment and vehicles for a tiny bunch of harmless hippies armed with nothing more than a guitar a flag and a megaphone.

It probably was OTT in hindsight, but I don't suppose they know in advance what the true situation is.

Damn right it's OTT.
UN-ANNOUNCED thugs from nowhere ? with no ID ? what's that all about ?
If an un-named assailant bundled into me like that afaic they are an assailant and should face assault charges.
Furthermore, what was that all about with the copper refusing to state whether the man he was questioning was OBLIGED to give his name ?
QED - we do live in a fascist regime.
Confession time - I didn't watch the link, but know that many forces seem to fight any 'disruptions' with an excessive amount of policemen.

I would have thought that, legally, they would have to be wearing something to identify themselves as police officers.

I am not sure if there enough police officers in our area to make such mass swoops.

I am glad that my little bit of the country is still relatively quite and peaceful.

;-)
Answerprancer - Police seemed to do their job really well.
They got the guy they wanted to interview
Either you are not telling or do not know why the person wanted to be interviewed by Police.
It seems strange that much media with cameras was on site.
Seems like rent a mob to me
Armed with all the facts, how would you have executed the arrest?
That's a lot of cops for one dirty hippy. I couldn't make out what they snatched him for.
I think they arrested him for possession of articles to commit criminal damage
Prancer - did'nt realise this footage was shot on 29th April - Police did a good job
On the face of it, it all looks ok. A suspect is wanted on suspicion of a serious offence. He is initially arrested and detained by undercover officers who inform the male they are police. No obvious signs of anyone being injured and the other hippies dont have opportunity to cause any major problem. I would imagine the outcome would have been a lot different had one or two officers tried detaining the suspect on their own.

Offices also remain calm even with these cretins pushing cameras in their faces.
