Basically it means what getting probation used to mean.You have to see a probation officer and possibly live in a hostel, or have a curfew for the time of the sentence dealt.

It means they will come out of prison and be subject to the same rules as an offender on Probation. If they miss too many appointments they will be returned to custody.
