OK here goes, I live in a cul-de-sac in which i have a driveway. However it is a square cul-de-sac and I am situated in the corner. I used to park on the driveway but I was always being boxed in. I tried parking in front of my drive as I thought people could then CLEARLY see that i was getting boxed in by the cars parked either side of me but this still isn't working. The highway code states you are unable to block an entrance to a property. However technically they are not blocking the entrance to my property but 'boxing' me in. When only 1 of the cars is parked i can get in and out but when they are both parked there i am completely boxed in and cant even move. They havent got driveways so its not as if we could all park on our drives. Where do i stand in the law as technically they are not in fornt of my drive but they are still blocking my entry? BUT only when both cars are parked up? HHHEEEELLLPPPPP!!!!

This isn't really one for the law - good neighbourliness should solve it.

When parked cars are blocking you, hopefully the owners are at home. Do they willingly move when you ask them to?

i'm in a similar situation if they arre not directly parked blocking your driveway then theres not much can be done

you need to ask them to move regularly before you can contact the council
It might be worth contacting the Highways Department of your County Council, explaining the problem and asking whether some yellow lines can be painted on a small part of the road to prevent future problems. They probably won't consider this without a very good reason but it's worth a try.
