How do I go about getting an injunction?

I typed a great long question on here a while ago and now it has disappeared! My partner's ex has spent the last 6 years , off an on, being fairly horrid to me. My partner and his ex split up 8 years before I met him so I played no part in their separation, but she seems to have it in for me. She is a nasty piece of work who has fiddled benefits for years whilst living with various gullible men. Unfortunately my partner is the father of one of her children, hence us having to deal with her. We always thought that once my partner's son reached 16 that we would be able to forget about her, but she seems to have gone in to overdrive. This is partly due to the fact that he chose to come and live with us. A couple of weeks ago she stormed out of a shop and tried to hit me. I had done nothing to provoke this. She has sent my step son a text saying I am lucky I am still standing and today she told him that she was going to hit me when she saw me next. How bad does she have to get before I can get an injunction against her? How easy are they to get? I don't want to have to wait until she has injured me but feel that at present the police will not take it that seriously, yet I am getting to the point where I am frightened to walk in our local town. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I do not know much about the law and injunctions, but I know that the more evidence you gather about what she does, the more it will help. Record everything she does, says, phones, texts with dates and times, and witnesses' names and addresses.
Good luck -do not let her intimidate you.
my x was aloud to be abusive twice or even hit me twice before an injunction was granted i have a promise that he was made to sign in court.next time it happens phone the police and then go straight to solictor applie for emergency injunction you could be in court, the same week but she has to be served with papers,so she can attend court the judge may order her to court within seven days .she may not turn up which will be better for you she has approched you once so the next time ring 999 and get appointment with good solictor if you dont do it that way you wont get an appointment for meybe a week or two and then you have to wait for a court date aswell.so far i have had a years police bail on him , an injunction for a year, and now a promise to run for a year i always say to my solictor, see you in a year ,goodluck pottyone
