My mother committed suicide in 1966.When I was a small child. Would there be any medical record still available after all this time. Thanks in advance

they are probably on microfilm and can be copied for you if u want them, but you would probabaly have to go thru hospital procedures...they will have them, i worked at medical records and we have records dated 1930's +

I seriously doubt that there will be any Medical Record still available.
If you know of any hospitals where she may have been treated, you could try contacting the Medical Records Officer to ask if there are any records still available.
The likelihood is, however, that they will have been destroyed.

Medical records probably will be available, I got my great-grandads from 1935. Whether or not they let you access them though is a different matter, I had to contact the relevant Health Authority for permission.
These things must vary. One of my ancestors (I do genealogy) died in what was a mental asylum in Scotland....when I enquired about seeing her records I was told they were closed for 100 years.

You could contact your Family Practioner Committee where her records will have been held and maybe now been written up on computer.
