Reasonable Expense Claim

I am to appear in court as a witness for the defence, could anyone tell me what i could claim as reasonable expenses for a journey by car 115 miles and 2 1/2 hours travelling time round trip.

I would try to work out how much roughly it would cost me in petrol to travel the distance, and add this to the amount of money you would lose out of your salary/wages to leave work for the amount of time you are needed.
I would say it is reasonable to claim what it would cost you. If there is a cap placed on the amount you can claim, and you wish to claim more than this, then you must claim the full 'capped' amount, if that makes sense?
