I remember when I was 6, someone told me that the rag and bone man was really the child catcher from chitty chitty bang bang, I used to hide when I heard him blow his horn, I used to think he shouted "child-ren!!" instead of "Ir-onnn"
I fell for that "flying penguin" article on BBC news on April Fool's Day.
I got so excited too :o(
My brother used to believe that there was a little man who lived in the fridge who turned on the light when you opened the door.
i used to believe that cars had a switch in them which turned on the cats eyes in the road
I conned my wee sis into believing there were aliens living in the old water tower near where we lived and she was terrified lol

I think it was the idea that they'd finally evolved and taken flight that appealed to me.
What a shame.

I was also duped into thinking that my ex husband was a nice man; but that's a totally different story.
Cant think I have but I get people with things all the time. After telling my bloke this morning I died his Leeds top Blue I have now just told all my mates I;m meeting up with Saturday night that I've had to cancel as just realised eurovision is on

I think such dupes and scams are a disgrace, the people that think them up I suppose they imagine they have a 'sense of humour'. .....
some ****** told me that there was monsters in the dark and i bought it for about 8 years. then i got a torch for my birthday.... thanks Dad.

I was pretty convinced that :
-bazooka bubble gum when blown would fill an entire room
-space invader crisps, when tossed skywards, would elicit the immediate decent of alien spacecraft. No wonder I was always starving
-xray specs from backs of comics actually worked.
