The court has issued me with papers from my estranged wife with a petition of divorce.
I have had move on yet again becuase she found out were I was living I fear for my own safety as her family have made and conducted actual threats and carried some of there threats resulting in physical violence and injuries were substained during the attacks.
Do I have to come forward to the court?
It is my understanding that the court have to release my location during the procedings.
Also I beleive that if I do not respond to the petition she can divorce me after five years uncontested ?????
Many Thanks

When I was divorced, I was able to swear an affadavit regarding the threats made by my ex and as a result, my address was kept off the court papers. The situation will be no better in 5 years because although you cannot contest it then, you still have to sign the same papers to acknowledge that you have been informed about the divorce proceedings.
