My mother died last year, leaving a will. However my father will not show me a copy. I do not want to upset him by keep asking to see it. Is there another way I can see the will?

Yes you can buy a copy from your local probate office if probate has been granted. Costs �5-10

Or by post, you get them from the York office, I think. Look up Probate Office on the web.

Surely if the will was of the DIY type (and I'm not saying it was), then it won't necessarily have been lodged with them?
For probate to be obtained, it has to be lodged - but it will not be available until probate has been granted.
