And this is a bit of fun thread, not to be taken seriously

The setting is a very big old house at the top of a winding lane that leads down to a fictional village that has a pub called The Nags Head, a Drapers shop ,a butchers and a small school with a church attached , all set in a square of cobble stones
The old house has 3 floors and has to be maintained, the top floor houses a nursery .
Who on here will make a good?

The setting is early war years

I own the the big house. Like many of the bigger houses it is commandeered by the army as a hospital for wounded soldiers. The nursery provides sleeping accommodation for the nurses. There is an annexe where a dozen American soldiers are housed. They help to maintain the grounds and the house and provide security for the hospital. The cellars are converted...

Make a good what?
Nag?
Bobbi, what's been happening in your story these last 136 pages?
Well I think Naomi would make a brilliant Teacher with Andy as the Headmaster. Always fighting then they realise they are actually in love. lol!
Dont know, I'd be in the Nags Head.
I'll be the Lady of the Manor, whose husband goes to war and is comforted by a Sean Bean (when he was in Sharpe) look a like.
Assuming you meant to say, "Who will make a good character?" then i would be the guy propping the bar up from opening time to chucking out time. I had plenty of practice back in the day though it doesn't really take that much skill :-J
However, much later in the book, i would see the error of my ways, sober up and become the hero of the hour. Just like in real life :-)))
Butcher- PP - he has had plenty of practice butchering the English language.
Flog off any surplus land for some developer to build a few hundred more houses, close the pub, the shops & the school & scrap the local bus service. Job done!

Dave, Noooo, it’s war time, can’t be doing that
Does the sign above the 'Nag's Head' doorway have a picture of the landlord's wife's head?
Question Author
Noo, just an owld Nag ( horse ) cheeky haha

Are you going to be the Nags owner Ken. ? No lease holds likd today, they owned their pubs
Oh in that case I'd have to be the local Xenophobe according to many on here I guess, or miserable old sod.

But where do you live , are you in one of the tied cottages on the banks of the Tyne, do you have a wife, do Jourdain have kids , sheesh!
mammylynne for the Nanny at the big house, firm but kind :-)
Question Author
Another good one , who do the kids in the nurse belong to tho APG?

Cottage I guess, with a wife who reminds everyone of Hilda Ogden. Retired and spending most days in the pub or allotment to keep away from the wife. Smoking Woodbines of course. Kids moved away to the City and rarely see them, hence the bitter twisted and cynical person.

Hows that?
