Mobile Phone Contract

I do not have a mobile and for a long time sista always used Pay as You Go. Anyway she has decided in order to be able to access more calls (I don't know really) - anyway the payment will come from my account.

How long is the contract - O2 - thanks

We cant answer that! Read the contract!!! Normally the minimum term is a year.

Depends on the phone you get. If you get an iphone or suchlike you can be contracted for longer.

Bog standard phone it's usually 1 year.

JJ, you really ought to read the documents and find out exactly how much you are up for. Seriously, you need to take a bit of control here. If it is a contract, she could (theoretically) run up a huge bill calling abroad and it comes out of YOUR account.

Cross posted JJ. I would be really reluctant to let her have her contract phone coming out of your bank account.

I once had a pay as you go mobile, I got a ridiculous number of calls and unlimited texts.

Seriously JJ, you should read the small print. Even if she isnt calling abroad you could end up with a lot of money leaving your account every month.

My mate bought his 13 year old daughter a contract phone. It *should* have cost him £15 per month. He was less than impressed that for 3 months on the trot her bills amounted to over £75 (with one being a shocking £130).

How does she get her pension etc paid? Did she never work?
