Hi,

I have an issue with my neighbour who thinks it is fine to us his mobile phone late at night 11:30pm early morning 1am, 3am and even 4am. I have to get up at 5am every morning for work and I have told him to stop it. His answer was you are at your house and I am at mine. When I do wake up for work he is fast asleep snoring having a good sleep and will not be getting out of bed till 12pm. I have spoken with the council and they have said that it is a nuisance but not a noise nuisance so we cannot do anything. I was thing of some sort of mobile phone signal blocker which I can switch on at 9pm and then switch off just before I set off for work. Is there something on the market and where can I get this?

Thanks

My neighbours makes late night phone calls whilst he is in bed. He has no consideration for others even makes phone calls in the early hours which wakes me up.
Was this mentioned when you were in mediation?
(Thank you, emeritus.)
Do you live in a terraced house then?
Do not under any circumstances even think about using a signal jammer.

I suggest you either swap bedrooms with somebody in your family who is a deep sleeper or buy ear plugs.

I'm glad that otherwise the situation has somewhat improved for you.

My newish neighbours have woken me up a few times lately having sex in the early hours - so I've just put earplugs in and gone back to sleep!

thanks emeritus I just did not want to dwell on all the past :-(
You really can't block someones phone signal.

I live in a terraced house and yes I have used ear plugs.
I believe jammers transmit and so are illegal.

I can only suggest soundproofing your bedroom (that also has other benefits).

Would you object is he was talking to a friend who was in the room with him ? Or is there something specific about his calls that you've not mentioned ?
On further thought, if you can hear them that well then it is obvious they can hear you. Could your alarm clock be waking them at 5 am?

As you own your own home look in to the possibility of soundproofing. It could be the best money you've spent on your property and enhance your sense of privacy as well as give you a bit of peace and quiet.
Ah I see from your other thread that this is simply one part of a bigger issue. I don't think one can sensibly concentrate on someone talking as being annoying. You need to get the whole issue sorted out.
I live in a terraced house and I've never heard my neighbours talking on the phone.
The wax ones are the best NISAR, they mould to your ear and work much beter than any other type.

This was mentioned in the mediation and they (the neighbours) said that get sound insulation installed. Just seems a big headache doing this as I spent a fortune doing my house up.
