Making alcohol

Is this legal? I sell home brew equipment. One of my customers who bought a wine kit from me asked if I would make it for him to save him the bother? Of course without thinking I said yes, but would need payment for my time. Later on I started to think about the legality of it. I truly will be only charging him for my labour time which will be £15.00. I just thought in the eyes of the law am I seen as selling alcohol?

Any help would be appreciated.

I think you need a licence to sell alcohol....
This sounds like a one-off job to me, so I wouldn't be giving it much thought.
Don't tell anyone ;-)

As I say, I am selling my time. He has bought the wine kit himself. I am just making it for him. Yes you do require a licence to sell alcohol. Thanks.
Accept payment for the wine kit. Then make it and accept payment for doing so. At no point in the process have you actually sold any wine. (You've only sold ingredients).

Chris
until it has fermented or whatever it is not alcohol...so all you are doing is putting together some ingredients...
If you did not tell anyone then they would not know, would they? Anyone can charge whatever they like for their time so you have not sold any alcohol at all. Not fully sure of the legalities of this arrangement but who is to know?
Itsmefolk is now to be known as "Moonshiner" here and will have an avatar with a cob pipe in his mouth and a pair of handcuffs on.

Next thing that he will tell us is that he lives in Grimsby, centre of the illegal booze business in the UK.......
