Similar to last request.3 brothers own equal thirds to deceased parents home.Youngest brother dies.Does his share pass to his wife or to his son by previous marriage?.His will leaves his estate to his wife.

If they own the house "in common" ... ie. one third share each ...

Then it passes in accordance with his Will ... ie. to the wife named in the Will.

Nothing to the son.

And you were correct before ...

It is "who" inherits.

But "to whom" does the estate pass?

In the first example, the person inheriting is the "subject" of the sentence, because he "does" the verb ... he inherits.
In the second case, they are the "object" of the sentence, because the verb is "done to" him ... is "passes" to him.
