The pub I work in part time is currently being refurbished and obviously there is no work. I was wondering if legally we are entitled to any pay (be it holiday pay or normal pay) Does anyone know?

Thanks

Have you worked there less than a year? If so they could simply dismiss you and then reoffer the job when they want someone again.
What does your contract say?
What notic eperiod are you on- they could give notice and reduce your hours
Buildersmate is the best for advice on these things
..rto my earlier reply I'd like to add...."and Buenchico is another very reliable source of advice on these matters"

Thanks to you all for replying. I don't have a contract! (which I know is illegal too) I am not so worried about myself, not that I don't need the money, but wanted to ask on behalf of the full timers.I have 2 other jobs so at least have some money coming in. I think some have contracts and some don't.Will look more at the link that Chris supplied. Thanks again. We are back to work this week and are paid a week in hand,so I'll see what happens on Friday.
