i've posted about him before but he has reached a new all time low.

He thought that a rectangle has four lines of symmetry. A square is a kind of symetry and has four but yoou don't normally call a square a rectangle.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ontop of this, he : writes curly algabraic x the same as x as in multiplying, 1 and both kinds of brackets are virtually the same and 2 and z are written almost exactly the same.

the list does go on but they're are the hardest things to cope with when you are trying to learn algebra with someone like that.

somehow this question got posted twice.

It was an accident so don't complain please.
no wonder some kids today leave school with few or no qualifications
You should be getting out of thinking of x as a multiplier symbol.

15xy

means 15 times x times y not 15 times y.

Later on if you continue maths you'll find it has a specific meaning in vector multiplication but in basic algebra if you see an x curly or otherwise you should assume it's an x and not a multiplication symbol

i'm actually predicted good grades.
good hope you do well honey
I don't doubt it.

I'm just saying that in the sort of maths that you sound like youre doing, don't fall into the trap of mistaking an x for a multiplication symbol.

Easy to do under pressure
well its ipossible to distinguish between the two when they're written exactly the same.
Is what nix-j-c is saying. So you can't not mix them up if you don't know which is meant to be which.
In algebra it is - one just doesn't use the symbol x as a multiplier at all.

well this maths teacher is so rubbish he doesn't realise that you would write ac meaning a times c so he would write a x c.
