Did you not have a warning first. Seeems a bit harsh if you were not given a previous warning
Question Author
no verbal warning and no written warning just told to go
Try putting your question in the law section you will get better response there.

Buildersmate will know the answer if he reads this, but I'm pretty sure that where an employee has less than a year's service the employee cannot claim unfair dismissal in these cases unless the reasons are related to disability.
Sorry Louise, but the tone of your answers either suggest that you are understandably upset or-one of nature's victims.
If you've been off five times in eight months it may be that yir employer feels they can not support that level of absence in a short period. It does not matter that the illnesses were genuine it's the fact that you have been off so often.

If you are not fit for work you should claim Incapacity Benefit and Income Support. If you are fit for work, you should claim Jobseeker's Allowance.
I'm a few years older than you and have very bad IBS under gastro care (being investigated for additional Crohns etc...), arthritis and meniere's disease.

I have a very demanding job but try to do the best I can to get my symptoms under control or at least manageable so I don't get this problem.

Could you pick a more suitable job to your problems and do anything more about the IBS and arthitis such as medications, other therapy and lifestyle changes?

What is the main reason that the conditions keep you off work?

Have you been properly investigated in light of your tummy problems as well to rule out anything else which could be causing it?

Stress can be a major factor. My tummy and joint pain has been evil the past few weeks as I had a relationship breakup, had to move etc... now I'd settled in my lovely new place and with the help of my osteopath, it's settled down a lot and is a lot more manageable.
