I'm qualified in AAT and have worked in accounts for 11 years. I'd love to run a bookkeeping service from home but I'm not confident enough that I've got all the correct skills.

I've thought about doing a bookkeeping course but most of the subjects on there I've covered already so don't really want to waste my money duplicating what I already know.

What do bookkeepers do compared to accountants? I can do accounts right up to trial balance, ledgers, VAT returns, payroll etc. The only thing I can't do is tax returns and corporation tax etc, but I'm assuming a chartered accountant does these.

What would you expect from a bookkeeping service?

TIA
Jo
