Where to find volunteer work?

Hi all. With my youngest going to play school 3 afternoons a week from September, I realised I'd like to do some kind of volunteer post. I'd be able to do three sessions of one and a half hours spread through-out the week. I don't want to do charity shops (was roped into that enough when my mum was a manageress of one many moons ago). I was wondering if anyone knew of any sites or where I could contact about possibly finding office based volunteer work (not bothered if it's pc work or just plain old filing).

I've looked in the net but haven't managed to find much.

Thankx

Our local school is always looking for helpers and as it's attached to the nursery - might be a good in road for later if you help out. They dont mind when you help sometimes it's just cutting up the fruit and other times it's helping in class.

Ask at the nursery you are thinking of sending your child to or the school - it will give you a good insight into where you send your child.
Hi katangel, good idea :) Most towns have a "volunteer council", somewhere like a volunteer job centre, where they have details of hundreds of different posts available.

An advisor will ask you questions about your availability, interests etc., and work with you to find you something that will benefit you and the agency the most.
This site is great too: http://www.do-it.org.uk/ You can do a very specific search.

Good luck :)
